Currently the drummer in two of New England's premier bands Bad At Math and Gypzy Freaks, Rusty is also available for live gigs and studio sessions. He will bring his decades of stage and studio experience to your project, always striving to serve the song.
Originally from the Philadelphia, PA area, Rusty relocated to the Boston, MA suburbs (with a couple of years in New York, NY in between) and immediately jumped into the forefront of the music community by joining the band Moonshine.
When Moonshine dissolved a couple of years later, Fighting Friday was born in 2008, and had been Rusty's musical focus ever since, until the band played its final farewell show in September of 2025. Performing live primarily as a cover band, and releasing original music as well, Fighting Friday garnered a reputation as being one of the most talented, energetic, tight and entertaining bands on the circuit. After seventeen years together, the band amicably decided it was time to exit stage left.
Rusty also joined Bad At Math, a new cover band debuting in 2023 featuring members of Fighting Friday and Jimmy's Down. Never one to sit still, Rusty is also a founding member of Gypzy Freaks, returning to his roots playing the sleaziest brand of '70s, '80s and '90s hard rock. Rusty also fills in with numerous bands, including Off The Record, Deja Voodoo, Iron Tiger, Swipe Right, The Beautiful Losers, Hell On Heels, Inner Child, and Josh David & The Funeral Puppets to round out his schedule.
Rusty has recorded and released albums and singles with Fighting Friday, Scott McClatchy, Goodnight Gracie (later shortened to Gracie), Aria, central figures, Great Jones, Soraia, Simone Reyes and the North Atlantic All-Star Band, among others. Visit the Listen page on this site for samples of his recorded works.
Playing drums is Rusty's passion. Being able to pursue that passion with incredibly gifted musicians, who also happen to be great friends, is a blessing.
